Executive Director
Isidro Medina joined the Washington Heights Business Improvement District (WHBID) in February 2016 and currently serves as its President and Executive Director. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the organization’s operations, including marketing, business development, advocacy, and fiscal management. Under his leadership, the Inwood Merchant Association was formalized as an institution dedicated to advocating for small businesses in Inwood, where he now serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors.
Beyond his work with the WHBID, Isidro plays a key leadership role in several civic and business initiatives. He serves as Chair of the Licensing Committee for Manhattan Community Board 12 and as Co-Chair of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Small Business Alliance. In 2017, he was selected as a Neighborhood Leadership Fellow with NYC Small Business Services (CORO). He has also been appointed to the Latino Advisory Group for NYC Small Business Services, where he advocates for the advancement of small business owners across the city. Through these roles, he provides critical guidance, resources, and support to thousands of small businesses throughout Manhattan.
Isidro has been deeply involved in civic leadership throughout Northern Manhattan and citywide. Since 2015, he has served on the NYC Commission on Public Information and Communication. He is also a Founding Member of the Renaissance Technical Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides workforce development services to thousands of young people citywide.
Prior to joining the WHBID, Isidro worked as a real estate agent, holding licenses in both New York and New Jersey. Earlier in his career, he served as Managing Director for Latin American Markets at Global Reach & Associates in New York City. He holds a master’s degree in International Relations and Economic Development from the City College of New York.
