To the Washington Heights Small Business Community:
The Washington Heights Business Improvement District (WHBID) is private not for profit organization established in 1983 to advocate for the small business community in Upper Manhattan. As a 501(c)3, our mission is to create a clean, safe and vibrant commercial corridor by providing supplemental sanitation services, encouraging economic development, marketing and beautification. The WHBID supports around 250 commercial storefronts in a 29-block commercial district along 181st Street from Amsterdam to Fort Washington Avenue, Broadway from 179th to 182nd Street and Saint Nicholas Avenue from 179th to 183rd Street.
Due to our commitment with the Washington Heights small business community, we are happy to announce a partnership with Diageo Americas Inc. to identify and directly offer financial relief to the small business employees (individuals) in Washington Heights who have suffered hardship as a direct or indirect result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Completion and submission of the application does not guarantee the award or amount. To qualify, applicants must complete the application and meet the requirements listed below. The WHBID must have received the application no later than: Thursday, November 30th, 2022, before 5:00 pm:
Requirements:

Proof of identity: Driver’s license, passport, etc.

Proof of work at a small business in Washington Heights*Excluding restaurant businesses along with national chains and retailers (Example: Target, Marshalls, Foot Locker etc.).

Applicants must provide adequate documentation, 2020 & 2021 1040 Federal Returns.
